Today I’m sitting at the computer working on the booklet for WMU and I hear a car horn, doors opening and voices outside. I jump up and run out the door here in the office to find a car stopped in the road in front of my house. As I walk toward them a young girl about Ana’s size and shape gets out of the back seat. In fact, when I first saw her, because of the jeans she had on, I wondered who Ana was with and why were they stopping her off at the road and not driving into the drive. Then I see a younger child get out of the front seat. My two dogs are out there barking and the little girl goes toward them with her hands then I’m out close enough to read the car tag and see the whole car and I say, "What are you doing?" The young girl, standing in MY yard now, says, "Trying to get my dog. " Wondering if I might have missed a dog I asked her, "Which one is your dog?" She points to Blaise.
I about lost it. I said, "That is MY dog. It is not your dog." She says, "That’s my dog." I say again, " That is MY dog, I bought her, paid for the vet bills now ya’ll just need to go on down the road."
About this time, the older girl gets in the car, but the child is still standing in MY yard …by the ditch, but still in MY yard. The adult leans forward so I can see her face and says, "We don’t want your dog."
I ask then why are you stopped in the road and your child standing in MY yard pointing at MY dog. I told her once again to move on down the road.
She again states she doesn’t want my dog and by now I’m a bit nervous since she isn’t leaving so I told her I could see her tag and if she didn’t drive on, I’d call the law, at which time the child got in the car and the adult drove off.

Maybe my dogs were close to the road. Pepper goes across the road sometimes to explore. Maybe they THOUGHT they hit one of them, but why not say so. Anyway, I went ahead and called the sheriff’s office and reported the incident. I told them I wanted them to know this had occurred in case my dogs came up missing or something else happened. *sigh(

I believe they thought they would get one or the other of my dogs. I had to laugh though, either one of them would need to picked up and put IN the car. Neither of them will voluntarily get into a vehicle unless it’s Pepper when we’ve taken her to the coast and she KNOWS we’re coming home. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
