New Job

Well, for those who don’t know, I’ve a new part time job at a local cleaners–drop off/pick up only.
Today was my first full day alone. I was trucking along doing just fine–a few customers, then a lull in which I crocheted more on the order I have, then another few customers. A few mistakes but nothing that couldn’t be fixed.
Then it was 4:30 and time to count the money–in this business a money count is done at 11:30 and 4:30 and the excess over the till amount is bagged for pick-up.
Well, before I could finish the total process a customer walked in–in getting out of that chore, the computer printed part of what I needed–I took care of the customer, then it was almost 5 and I couldn’t remember what to do with the money just taken in.
I’ve done many a cash out on the register, but it was always counting the money and comparing it to the print out.
Not here.
Here they count bills—how many 1’s, how many 5’s, how many quarters and so on–it’s entered into the count part of the cash out and it should equal what the machine says says you did for that period of time. Mine did. Anyway, it’s time to clock out and I’m not done so I call the lady I’m co-working with and she says–put the $ in the bag, put it in the safe, clock out, go home. Money has been picked up today, the rest can wait till tomorrow and send me pics of what you have so I did. Later she text–it all matches, don’t worry about it–so in the morning I have to figure all that out, get the money right in the bag, PLUS, I have a drop off to complete and a rack of clothes to rack. I won’t be bored, that’s for sure.
